The Traffic Control Subsystem is a part of the Advanced Traffic Management System developed by VoiceLink. Its goals are:

  • Controlling traffic at an intersection in local adaptive mode;
  • Controlling traffic at an intersection or a number of intersections in centralised operator (manual) mode;
  • Controlling traffic at a number of intersections in coordinated mode;
  • Controlling traffic in a road network in adaptive mode;
  • Arranging priority passage for emergency vehicles and public transport.

The subsystem consists of:

  • “Synthesis” Traffic Signal Controller that employs modern traffic control algorithms and is capable of substantially enhancing traffic flows and reducing traffic load on urban road networks of any size, complexity or configuration. The subsystem supports traffic signal controllers by other manufacturers;
  • “SmartVision” Vehicle Detectors;
  • Designated software (ATMS module) that employs algorithms to carry out centralised management of peripheral equipment.

The Traffic Control Subsystem operates in close integration with other ATMS subsystems, as well as with other systems used for transport and road infrastructure management. Those systems primarily include:

  • Public Transport Management System;
  • Public Utility Infrastructure Management System;
  • Road Maintenance and Construction Management System.

The Traffic Control Subsystem may also be integrated with the Transport Security System and the Emergency Vehicle Priority Passage System.
